Robosexual

Here is a little prelude of my article today, which is from my previous blog entry.

The Future of Sexy Robots

The race is on to keep humans one step ahead of robots: an international team of scientists and academics is to publish a code of ethics for machines as they become more and more sophisticated. Dilemmas may arrive sooner than we think, says Henrik Christensen. "People are going to be having sex with robots within five years".he said. So should limits be set on the appearance, for example, of such robotic sex toys? The greatest danger, however, is likely to lie with robots that are able to learn from their "experiences". As systems develop, robots are likely to have much more sophisticated self-learning mechanisms built into them and it may become impossible to predict exactly how they will behave.

Well that particular article you've just read was from Times UK, though might seem a little absurd at point in time past August, however I can assure you that the trend of lover robots hitting up the department store near you are only inevitable. Despite some major technical hurdles such as the actual moving mechanism to simulate the sensuality simulator(no punned intended). Many innovators from Asia such as Japan and China are seriously getting involve in this new found volatile industry. As for the question if there is going to be a demand for this particular fetish? Have no fear because many therapists on your neck of the wood have already named the Robot fetishism symptoms which is ASFR or technosexuality.
This particular metal fixation is categorize by a deviant fetishism
, is simply a desire to have a ready-made android partner. This partner can be desired for sex, companionship, or any combination of the two. This trend of robotics research and development has its root from industrial robotic services to be companion and carer robots for the elderly, has as its logical continuation the design and construction of partner robots, sufficiently human-like and sufficiently appealing in various ways to take on the role of a partner in a relationship with a human being. The main distinguishing feature of this fantasy is that the android is a completely artificial construct, manufactured solely to fulfil the wishes of its owner. This type of fantasy or situation is referred to as built. The second type of fantasy prevalent within ASFR is referred to as transformation. This involves a human who has been either willingly or unwillingly turned into an android. That person can be either oneself or one's partner, or both. It is usually the process of transformation (through whatever means it is achieved) that is the focus of this fantasy.
Both types of robotic demands for social companionship and biological augmentations, immediately raise many questions relating to humans loving and being loved by robots. Can we treat robots as life partners equally and being similarly treated by them. What about marrying robots and even perhaps becoming robots ourselves? Perhaps this words might not bring you a certain clarity so I will let this music video clip by Bjork a better explaining to you all.

From the makers of Ghost in the Shell I give you Lizzy the Lesbian Robot

Umm now your mind has been prime nostalgically to absorb further emotional disillusion in the desert of the "Real". I will take you on a tour of some the real-life fembots current in the development around the world.

Actroid-DER2 Robot featured at WIRED Nextfest 2006, NYC

lifelike humanoid robot developed by Osaka University and manufactured by Kokoro Company Ltd.

Here is another clip of the actroid DER in her homeland, notice how can speak both fluent English and Japanese depending on the geographical location.

Here is another variation of the DER actroid the"J-girl"

Now let's check out the robotic development in China, apparently the scientists there are more keen on having their android sing a perfect karaoke. Notice an extreme blondish physique with some anatomical exaggeration (like the nipples it must be cold !), so are they trying to tell us on a certain short coming ?

Now let's ponder on a ultimate question,"Can robots fall in love?” Such questions might seem to be unnecessary because love is an experience peculiar to warm-blooded mammals—anything in a programmed entity is merely a simulation. But if a robot exhibits all the same signs and behaviours of a human in love, and if it professes its love for a human, then surely, so far as the recipient is concerned, their robot is indeed in love with them, whatever being in love means to a robot. However what's going to raise another noodle conundrum for the future is
“Will people love them back?” I believe the answer to be an unqualified “Yes”, even this might be appluading to alot of people. But consider the millions of people who develop extremely strong emotional attachments to their pet animals, and the rapidity with which millions developed emotional attachments to their Tamgotchis, both of which are indications as to the strength of emotion that can be felt by humans for non-humans, and as to the feelings that millions will develop for robots when they are more emotionally sophisticated than both animals and Tamagotchis. One advice to all gents and lady out there, one might barely survive the jealousy of a flesh how are you going to coup with a "rage of the machine"? I don't want to imagine !

Digg!
